In the 1940s and 50s, Hampton Head Manor, on the protected waters of Riddell's Bay, was known as one of Bermuda's most gracious homes. However, by the 1980s, the home had fallen into disrepair. In 1996, a Bermudian developer purchase the estate. By 2002, the manor was transformed into a 21st residence while retaining the best features of the original estate, parts of which date to the mid-1600s. Massive Bermuda cedar beams, soaring buttery ceilings, numerous fireplaces and inspiring views of Riddell's Bay abound in this 6,000 square foot home with wide waterside verandahs. Along with formal living and dining rooms, a family room, library, and executive kitchen, the solarium equipped with hot tub and sauna is a special feature. The dock and mooring on Riddell's Bay are coveted by boaters. The dockside salt-water fish pond, an amenity enjoyed by the finest early Bermuda homes, keeps the day's catch fresh until just before dinner.
