Welcome
The British Nationality Act provides residents of Bermuda with a pathway to British citizenship for those who make the island their residence for five consecutive years (and meet other routine requirements as stated herein). The British Nationality Act was amended in 2002 to allow residents of its British Overseas Territories to become citizens with right to UK/EU passports, and Bermuda residents have taken, and continue to take, advantage of this opportunity. This website provides the details on point: How is this accomplished? What are the steps? How is Bermuda residency obtained?

The term “expat” or “expatriate”, as used in this website, means anyone who resides outside the country of his/her birth and who would like to obtain an alternate citizenship.
